i'm contemplating going digital.
currently i exist solely in the old-school world of film cameras.
so i'm asking you, the readers, for some help.
question 1: should i, in fact, latch on to the digital realm?
question 2: if you answered question 1 in the affirmative, what type of camera do you recommend?

Sarah,
Talk to Brae. She's religiously committed to film but uses digital day in and day out. The main advantages are:
1. Size and portability of the camera (as compared to your SLR). You'll end up taking a lot more pictures because you'll have the camera with you.
2. Expense. You'll dispense with film and processing costs. Prints are about the same (twenty to thirty cents each).
3. Compatibilty with your computer. Pictures are instantly downloadable to your computer to store and to post (for email and blogging). Also you can start your own gallery on Flickr. Check out Brae's and Kyrie's Flickr sites linked to Fingerpost. And Annie Huntington's Flickr photos are quite a treat.
For most applications 5 to 7 megapixels are all you need. Plan to spend around $300 for the camera. Check with Annie and Brae about what they think of their specific cameras.
yes sarah, do it. if for nothing else do it for me. haha..going digital doesn't mean you've gotta lose old-school..since your so faithfully committed to it now, chances are it won't totally burn out once\if you go digi.
llloveyou..ive missed you more than usual lately!! ah!
